it's heavy, long, and stacking, but there are definitely worse triggers out there. Honestly, I'd recommend you either buy another handgun, trade the LC9 in for something else, or train with it enough to get used to the trigger. I'm sure the company you purchase the modified trigger from will have some sort of clause stating that they are not responsible for anything resulting from modifications to your weapon. especially when they strongly "suggest" that you don't modify your weapon in any way. The manufacturer (Ruger, in this case) will deny any fault since you intentionally altered one of their safety devices. You are always liable, but again, a good lawyer could take this accident and make it look like you were some sort of basement Rambo, intentionally making your weapons more deadly, and this is obviously all your fault.

So, even though you were defending yourself against an attack, you become the attacker once you take an active role in "killing/injuring their client." Now, instead of having a trial over the criminal's acts, you're on trial trying to defend your own actions.Īlso, if you ever have an AD, and it's discovered that you have modified your weapon (such as the trigger), then you are liable for any damages/deaths that result. They can try to use this to paint a picture of you being a trigger-happy lunatic that modified your handgun to become more deadly killing machine.

If you use your weapon in a defensive situation, the police can confiscate your handgun as evidence (especially if you discuss weapon modification), much like how George Zimmerman had his confiscated after his big ordeal. I have talked to police and lawyer friends (unofficially, of course), and been told the same thing over and over. That being said, I have done a metric fuck-ton of homework on this topic. So, let me preface this with a few points:ġ) I currently live in VA, and have done so for a while. Run out of new posts to read? Try the Reddit Gun Network for more content!
